Mrs. Bridges, or Kate to a select few, began her career as an under-cook for respectable families in Victorian England. During this time, she collected a wide range of recipes, from simple country dishes to fine French cuisine. Kate earned the honorary title of “Mrs.” when she became Cook to Lady and Richard Bellamy, prominent Edwardian socialites. Inspired by Mrs. Beeton and encouraged by Lady Marjorie, Mrs. Bridges published Practical Household Cookery in 1905. She was later immortalized in the 1970s TV series Upstairs Downstairs, known for her jams, marmalades, and condiments. Today, the Mrs. Bridges brand, launched in 1967, offers over 150 products, including preserves, curds, chutneys, and mustards, many of which are available in luxurious gifting sets. The brand’s signature jar, adorned with a mop cap and bow, adds a touch of elegance to each product, making Mrs. Bridges synonymous with quality, luxury, and indulgence.
